System Limits & Boundaries
Examine the hard limits, recording caps, and timeout boundaries enforced by the TellBack widget.
TellBack enforces specific duration caps and rate-limits to maintain client application performance and manage infrastructure usage.
[!NOTE] Included limits vary by plan. See your Billing and Usage pages for the current limits on your account.
Telemetry & Recording Caps
1. Replay Duration Limit (15 Minutes)
Replay recording is capped by the configured maximum recording duration (which defaults to 15 minutes). When the cap is reached, replay recording stops, while broader session behavior follows the normal session lifecycle.
2. Audio Recording Limit (60 Seconds)
Voice feedback recordings submitted through the widget are capped at a maximum of 60 seconds. A client-side timer automatically stops recording when this threshold is reached, prompting the user to edit or upload the audio.
3. Session Inactivity Timeout (30 Minutes)
If a user remains inactive (no navigation, clicks, or input actions) for 30 minutes, the active session is cleared. Future events trigger a transparent session rollover, generating a new session ID for subsequent telemetry.
Booking Rate Limits
To prevent spam scheduling, booking requests are rate-limited per visitor:
- Site-wide booking rate: Limit of 20 booking submissions per hour.
- Visitor email rate: Limit of 3 booking submissions per email per day.
- Visitor IP address rate: Limit of 10 booking submissions per IP address per hour.
